    Trade

    For travel partners

Boreal Yachting works with a small number of travel designers, agencies and guiding companies who sell Arctic sailing to their own clients. We operate our own fleet of ten vessels from Tromsø, have sailed these waters since 2003, and are an AECO member. Whole-boat charters only.

    Why partner with us

We own and operate the fleet.

Ten Arctic-prepared vessels, crewed by our own skippers. No broker chain and no third-party operator between you and the boat. One point of accountability when something needs deciding.

    23 years of Arctic operations.

Continuous operation in Northern Norway since 2003 and in Svalbard since 2008. Member of AECO, the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators, and certified through the Eco-Lighthouse programme.

    Whole-boat only.

Your client's group has the boat to themselves. No mixed-group dynamics to manage, no seat allocation, and no other agency's clients on board.

We do not compete with you.

We will not undercut an agreed rate direct to your client, and we protect the client relationship you have built. Where you introduce the client, the client is yours.

    How we work with partners

Commercial terms are agreed per partner and confirmed in writing before the first booking.

    Net rates
Net rates are available for partners packaging Boreal into a wider itinerary. You set your own selling price. Net terms are agreed per partner, in writing, before the first booking.

    3. 3

You confirm in writing. We issue the charter contract and deposit invoice, and the boat is blocked for your client.

    4. 4

      Pre-departure

We send joining instructions, kit lists and crew details for you to pass to your client, and speak directly to your client only if you ask us to.

    Familiarisation and inspection visits

Agents sell what they have experienced. We hold a limited number of familiarisation places each season, on both Northern Norway and Svalbard departures.

Places go to partners with a contracted relationship or an active pipeline, and to product managers and senior sellers rather than general staff. Inspection visits to a vessel alongside in Tromsø can usually be arranged at shorter notice, in season.

To apply, use the enquiry form below and select Famil or inspection visit. Tell us which products you sell and to which markets. Terms are confirmed directly for each season.

    Quality and safety

We operate to AECO guidelines in the Arctic and to Sysselmesteren, the Governor of Svalbard, regulations for all Svalbard sailing, including field-safety and wildlife requirements. Skippers hold commercial certification for the vessels and waters they sail, crew are trained in sea survival and first aid, and mountain guides on ski products are certified. Vessels carry liferafts, immersion suits, EPIRBs, satellite communications and medical kits appropriate to the area of operation, and we carry operator liability and vessel insurance. Insurance and certification documentation is available for your duty-of-care assessment on request.

    Partner questions

How far ahead should I book Svalbard?
9 to 12 months. Svalbard ski touring in late April and May, and the summer expedition weeks, are the first to sell. Northern Norway sailing is usually available at 6 to 12 months, sometimes less outside the ski season.
How many guests does a whole boat take?
Most vessels take up to eight guests plus crew. Larger groups sail on two or more boats in company, which we coordinate as one programme. We do not sell individual berths.
What insurance and liability cover do you carry?
We carry operator liability and vessel insurance, and we work to AECO guidelines. Documentation is available for your risk assessment on request. Guests must hold their own travel and medical insurance, including repatriation, and for ski touring, off-piste cover.
Can guiding companies bring their own clients and their own guide?
Yes. Many ski partners charter the whole boat and run the mountain programme with their own certified guide. We provide the vessel, the skipper and everything on board. Where you prefer, we supply the mountain guide.
    Are net rates available?
Yes, for partners packaging Boreal into a wider itinerary. Net terms are agreed in writing per partner before the first booking, and you set your own selling price.
    Do you run familiarisation trips?
We hold a limited number of familiarisation places each season, offered to partners with an active or contracted relationship. Apply through the form below, stating the season and product you sell.
