How far ahead should we book?

Most journeys are booked six to twelve months ahead. Ski & Sail weeks in Lyngen and Svalbard expeditions fill earliest, often more than a year in advance. Shorter notice is sometimes possible, so it is always worth asking.

What does a deposit look like?

A booking is confirmed with a deposit, with the balance due before departure. We set out the exact payment terms in the proposal before you commit to anything.

What happens if the weather changes the plan?

The skipper decides the route on the day, based on wind, sea state and ice. Plans change often in the Arctic, and that flexibility is part of how we keep the sailing safe and the week good. The experience is the sailing, not a fixed itinerary.

Can we charter with fewer people than the boat sleeps?

Yes. We sail whole boat, so the vessel and crew are yours regardless of group size. Smaller groups simply have more space on board. The price is for the boat, not per person.

What are the cancellation terms?

Cancellation terms are set out in the booking conditions and confirmed in writing with the proposal before you commit.

Do we need travel insurance?

Yes. We ask every guest to hold travel insurance covering cancellation, medical cover and repatriation. For Svalbard and ski touring we also ask that the policy covers the activity and remote-area evacuation.
