Hiring a Bare Boat is first and foremost about freedom; freedom to explore in your own tempo, finding new places and meeting new people.
Staying one day extra at the place you fell in love with, taking a longer sailing leg to reach your destination late at night. Making dinner at 4 in the morning and sleeping until lunch the next day. Anchouring up in a small bay, climbing on top of the nearest mountain or taking a refreshing bath
– all at your own pace.
At Boreal Yachting you can rent bare boat during the months from May until October. During these months days are long and nights are bright, with perfect sailing conditions. We require all skippers to have valid license and adequate sailing experience to enjoy this exotic sailing destination in a safe and pleasurable way.
The remaining part of the year we offer chartered tours and seasonal activities.

Our base in Tromsø, located just outside the city is open all year round. Our Svolvær base in Lofoten is open from June til end of August.  We also offer chartered tours from our Longyearbyen base on Svalbard from May to September.

SEASONS
MAY – OCTOBER

Watch how the winter lets go and the nature prevail back to life in end of May.  Sail under the midnight sun during June and July.  Enjoy long and warm days in August, or see the nature explode in breathtaking colors when fall comes in September and October.

CLIMATE & WEATHER
IN BARE BOAT SEASON

Norwegian climate can be unpredictable but during summer we have more calmer weather and often long periods with sun. Being by the cost you can always count on some wind and if the rain comes it usually doesn’t stay for long. Expect temperatures in the range from +10C to +30C.

Our fleet consists of hight quality sailing yachts from 2 to 5 cabins, fully equipped with electronic charts and navigation.

LISENCE & EXPERIENCE
KNOWLEDGE IS KEY

When hiring a Bare Boat, a responsible person on board must document knowledge and skills in seamanship and sailing.  As a safety precaution, one other member of the crew must be able to manage the boat.

WHAT’S AWAITING YOU

AMAZING NATURE

Nature is really what it is all about. Circle in between small and large islands with enormous mountains reaching up around you. Long fjords ending in hideaways revealing white sand beaches made up of seashells over thousands of years.

During summer the sun will follow you both day and night shattering the sky with beutiful colors as it just touches the horizon before ascending again. The changes between night and day will fade away.

ANGIENT HISTORY

Arctic Norway has a long and profound history and has been inhabited since the ice age. The area’s rich Norse and Sámi heritage is well documented and you may find old settlements from the middle ages along the cost.

The sea has always been one of the most important aspects of the lives of those who have lived and are still living here. Old and picturesque fisherman villages are found in almost every fjord. In larger and more modern town you can find anything you desire.

LOCAL CULTURE

Local people love the sea and are open minded and respect and appreciate other sea farers. You will always find guidance and help if you need and wish.

The rich food culture of Norway stands strong, but our curiousness of other cultures has invited in all kinds of delicacies in the shops.
