WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE WEEK?
v
An epic week of ski and sail starts out from Tromsø port!
We pick you and your gear up at your hotel or the airport on Saturday afternoon and drives you to our homeport in Eidkjosen just 15 minutes outside Tromsø City, where the sail yacht is awaiting.
On the first day and we go either late on the first evening or early in the morning to reach first destination while it is still dark. Which route we take and what mountains we visit will depend on the weather, current snow conditions and on participating skiers level and fitness. The skipper and guide will discuss and plan this together with the group for the week, and also continuously during the trip as conditions can change rapidly.
We’ll be back in port during the evening of the last night, with check out early next morning.
The mountains in Tromsø and Lyngen Alps are world famous for their diversity and good conditions especially in the months of February to May. Here you will find summits up to 1800 meters and an endless variety of challenges. Glaciers can be explored, island can be traversed. Especially the island north and east of Lyngen will make your trip well worth it and the yacht will await you on the other side. Common for most of the mountains is their spectacular view as the steep walls dive right into the fjord.
We also have the possibility of going south towards Senja, Grytøya and Lofoten. Here the conditions are more various and the mountains more difficult and challenging. Usually the season ends a bit earlier.
The yacht is your home for the weekend and takes you from one place to the other. The skipper has the responsibility for the yacht and transportations, however, during the week there will plenty of opportunities (for those who wishes) to participate in the handling and sailing of the yacht. This is a wonderful chance to learn more and have hands on experience under skilled supervision.
Provision will be made in Tromsø before departure so all food for the week is stocked and we are not depended on restocking if we are in a remote area and wishes to stay there. The menu is created by a restaurant chef and adapted to the facilities we have on board. All meals are prepared and served on board usually as a collaborations between all the participants. If you would like just to sit back and relax we are happy to provide additional services such as chefs and hosts.
During a week we sail by a few other interesting destinations and some might want to take a day off from skiing and go for a visit to e.g. the northern most whiskey Distillery Aurora Spirit for a touring and some whiskey tasting. You can also spend an exclusive evening in the out door hot tub enjoying tapas and drinks. We can also arrange dog sledding / mushing for the ones interested.

Epic week of powder during our ski tour and sail charter
Thanks for everything!!!! We chartered the Arctic Ice for a week with boreal yachting, a 2012 Delphia 47′ sailboat. Boreal arranged for a great ski guide that traveled with us.
There was amazing skiing peak after peak after peak in the lyngen alps. Ski touring started from quaint harbor villages and from the barren shore on a dingy. We also had Boreal cater the food. Fully stocked fridge with local salmon and even a night of reindeer cooked on board. After epic days of powder skiing we also caught the northern lights. This was a trip to remember.
Whatever you can dream up Boreal Yachting will make every effort to deliver!
