They continue straight down into the fjord, their peaks still holding snow while the sea churns cold and dark below. The only way to reach what's up there is to come by boat. This is the geography that defines everything Boreal Yachting does. We sail out of Tromsø, Lofoten, and Svalbard — some of the most dramatic and least-visited sailing waters on earth. Our guests ski couloirs that haven't seen another set of tracks all winter. They float in Norwegian fjords while orcas feed thirty metres below them. They anchor in bays where the midnight sun skims the horizon at 2am and the silence is something you can feel. These are not experiences you can replicate on land. They require a boat — and the right people running it. Our Approach ### The Arctic, on your terms Every trip we run is built around one idea: genuine access. Not a view from a distance, not a scheduled stop at a famous viewpoint, but the kind of access that comes from being able to anchor wherever the conditions are right, move when the wildlife moves, and spend a week in places that most of the world will never see. Our fleet of 13 sailing yachts carries a maximum of eight guests. We work with certified mountain guides, expedition-trained polar guides, and skippers who have spent years learning these waters. The small scale is deliberate — it is the only way this kind of experience works. Whether you're joining a ski and sail departure in February, a whale freediving week in November, or a private Svalbard expedition in July, you are not joining a tour.
