During the days and evenings we invite you participate in an intimate Northern Light Hunt with hands on experience guided safely by the famous Aurora photographer Kjetil Skogli. Capturing the Aurora Borealis on camera is an art in its self and can be difficult to handle, but with assistance from Kjetil you will learn how to get the best photos on camera.

Each day we set out to find the best condition for the Northern Lights and while we travel and explore the surroundings of Tromsø. Our goal is also to let our guests experiencing the local culture and eat high quality local food, all meals are prepared and served on board. You live on board and sleep comfortably in one of 2 berths cabins. We might anchor up in secluded fjords or visit small fishermansvillages and the conditions each day will decide where we set sails to next.

Smaller Groups = Bigger experiences

We want you explore the magic of the Northern Light and the Arctic in an intimate and private way. We only travel with small groups with maximum 6 people. This way we make sure you get the grandest and also most authentic experiences taking in the light and nature in calm, quiet surroundings.

To get the best experience of the Northern Light you will need to get away from light pollution from cities and roads. Often northern light hot spots on land are filled with buses and crowded with people. When traveling by a sailboat we'll have the best conditions as we can get far away from these factors as we bring our home with us and are not depended on time, distances or place. In addition to exploring the breathtaking northern light you will in the period from October until February see that the fjords around Tromsø is filled Orcas and Humpback whales feeder on Herring.

The Aurora Chaser Kjetil Skogli:

From he started in 2003 with northern lights photography, guided tours in 2006, he have witness an amazing increase in winter tourism. With more than 1200 tours and 7000 guests he has a fine tuned concept who give you one of the best chances to see the lights, and he also use this knowledge on Aurora sailing tours . With a hit rate of more than 95% you are in good hands and he do his best to see you as an individual and make you feel safe and comfortable, but still let you feel the excitement of chasing the lights.

He is probably most knows as the one who found the lights for Joanna Lumley/BBC in her
documentary " In The Land Of The Northern Lights", a program who kicked off the winter tourism in northern Norway. Not to mention Brian Cox/BBC "Wonders of the solar system", Globo Sporto "Planeta Extrema, Norwegian TV (documentary) and several other companies. Charles Woolley from " 60min Australia" made a 60 min program about him and the lights. Also, Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen chose him to help them to find the elusive Aurora Borealis.

His passion and knowledge for photography, astronomy, meteorology, the ocean and local knowledge are benefits he use to help you to find the lights and to have a good time. Roomers say he can predict the lights down to minutes.

Specialized in small groups as he want to give his guests the best possible experience and quality.
